OUR STORY

In 1998, a group of Redfern residents came together with the vision of revitalising Aboriginal culture through economic and social stability. Our founders began with maritime training as a way of offering local men the dual opportunity of engaging in culture and finding employment. Today, we offer programs that support youth, men, women, ex-offenders, and families.

Tribal Warrior has been a central part of the Redfern community for over two decades. Throughout this time of rebuild and change, our vision has been unwavering – we emerged from a deep commitment to empower our community through connection to culture and family. All our programs are designed to contribute to a Redfern that is strong in its history, proud of its achievements, and economically self-sustaining into the future.

Community Programs

Tribal Warrior has had a significant impact on the local Indigenous community, empowering Indigenous youth and reducing crime, revitalising culture and community connection, economic and employment opportunities, strengthening families and social wellbeing, and bridging the gap between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Australians to better understand and respect Aboriginal perspectives, ensuring that cultural traditions continue to thrive in modern society.

The outcome of our work is the creation of diverse employment and income generation streams. Through our focus on education, employment, crime prevention, and cultural preservation, Tribal Warrior has helped strengthen Indigenous identity, reduce disadvantage, and create long-term opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Sydney.

This diversity places the Redfern and surrounding communities in an ideal position to adapt to and meet evolving challenges as well as grasp opportunities as they arise by playing a vital role in preserving and sharing Indigenous cultural knowledge.

Tribal Warrior is a non-profit community organisation dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and relies on the community for both practical and financial support to expand the services we offer. Walking Together for Real Change

It takes a village to build strong communities. Our partners walk alongside us, helping us with vital day-to-day costs that keep Tribal Warrior running. Their support handles the logistics, so our team can handle the mentoring.

Thanks to this support, we can ensure that every dollar donated by the public goes straight to the front line, funding the equipment, training and cultural programs that change lives.
